Press Release

CinSOIL successfully raises a pre-seed funding round, which marks a pivotal step in the company’s efforts to scale innovative solutions enabling carbon sequestration in agriculture at scale. This milestone, backed by a combination of investments from angel investors from the Berlin-Brandenburg region and a non-dilutive competitive grant for high-tech startups from the German government, marks a significant step forward in the company’s mission to make carbon insetting a scalable and verifiable solution for businesses tackling Scope 3 emissions.

At its core, CinSOIL is reimagining how companies approach sustainability. By harnessing the power of soil as a carbon sink, the company empowers businesses to integrate nature-based carbon removal practices into their supply chains, thus delivering benefits that go beyond emissions reduction, including improving soil health, biodiversity, and economic resilience.

“Soil is one of the most underutilized yet powerful tools when it comes to climate action,” notes CEO Giorgi Shuradze. “With this funding, we’re ready to advance our technology and enable more businesses to integrate carbon insetting into their operations with confidence.”

CinSOIL’s technology is designed to bring scientific credibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory alignment to carbon insetting. By continuously monitoring soil carbon levels, leveraging satellite-based technology for continuous monitoring, and ensuring compliance with international standards, the company provides a robust and scalable solution for organizations looking to future-proof their carbon strategies and MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) systems. Combining expertise in AgTech, food systems, and business, the CinSOIL team is committed to making sustainability both actionable and financially viable.

“Deep-tech can provide solutions that are both impactful and financially sustainable,” says CTO and computational scientist Antonella Succurro. “We are developing tools that can integrate carbon insetting services seamlessly for agrifood businesses operating at different scales, ultimately creating real value for farmers, ecosystems, and consumers alike.”

From early-stage pilots to international collaborations, CinSOIL has already established partnerships across multiple countries to implement insetting solutions at scale. With this funding, the company is set to push forward its technology, accelerate customer acquisition processes, and strengthen its partnerships across the agrifood sector. CinSOIL is ready to expand its reach and partnerships, pioneering new models for verifiable carbon insetting and paving the way for more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.

As COO and agroecology expert Tavseef Mairaj Shah concludes, “I think it would not be wrong to say that soil is the single most important life-supporting entity on earth. The potential contribution soil can provide towards climate action is just one aspect of the myriad roles that soil plays, when healthy, that is. This is what we at CinSOIL put the most focus on–enabling agrifood businesses to improve soil health while at the same time making an invaluable contribution to climate action through soil carbon sequestration. With this funding, CinSOIL is ready to expand its reach to farms and supply chains around Europe, collect data, and refine its models to ensure carbon farming and insetting is undertaken at scale, in a verifiable and traceable manner”

As CinSOIL moves in its acceleration phase, it invites industry leaders, farmers, and climate-tech advocates to engage with the testing phase of its solution and collaborate in driving carbon insetting as the new standard for sustainable supply chains. The company is poised to drive systemic change in how businesses address Scope 3 emissions, ensuring that soil is recognized as a key player in the transition to a regenerative future.
